In order for your shipments to be tax exempt, we are required to have valid resale certificate(s) on file for each state that your orders are shipped to from alphabroder.

If Shipping to or for your Business

Your current resale certificate(s) on file are listed below. Please review this list and ensure that we have a certificate for each state that we ship to, and/or upload or fill out a certificate for each state where your orders are shipped. If you upload a certificate, note that the resale tax certificate(s) will display as Pending until they are reviewed by our sales tax team; once approved, the status will update to Complete and you can proceed with your order tax exempt.

Not having a resale certificate on file with us could result in sales tax being charged. Please note that there is no tax charged on orders shipped to AK, DE, MT, NH and OR.

If Shipping to your Decorator

Sales tax is based on each order where the product is shipped from alphabroder to point B (decorator/3rd Party Service Provider). For our audit purposes we need to have supporting tax documents supporting these transactions even if the goods will ultimately not be sold where the decorator is located. For your order to be tax exempt, please do the following:

• Click on Add New Certificate
• Accept the terms and conditions for Avalara
• Click on + Add Exemption Certificate
• Select the state where the decorator is located and your order will be drop shipped
• Reason select "Decorator/Third Party Provider"

4 boxes will come up that should be filled out as follows:

• Description of Property to be Purchased - describe what is being purchased from alphabroder
• Purchaser Drop Shipment State - input the state code where the decorator is located (e.g. "FL")
• Purchaser State Tax ID - write the name of your decorator (don't need their ID at this point)
• Purchaser State Tax ID State of Issue - please include the state YOU (our customer) holds a license

Please sign the document and then close it out. You may return to your order and complete the process tax exempt. Someone from the sales tax department may contact you for further information after the order is placed.
